shopping alone?

I love shopping(like 99% of the female race)
I just love it. There is something about the anticipation of finding the perfect dress for that party, or the perfect top to go with those pants or shopping for no particular reason and finding something perfect for you.
I love shopping.
I love shopping with my best friend Louise and I love shopping with my boyfriend.
My boyfriend is a suprisingly good shopper. He holds all the clothes I plan on trying on/buying so I am free to keep browsing the racks.
He is eternally patient and tells me to take my time.
He even wanders off on his own and comes back with a proud look on his face holding a dress or a top he thinks I may like. And about 90 percent of the time he holds up something I do like.
It's amazing, really.
When I shop with Louise, we often end up buying the exact same things, and having to co-ordinate our outfits when we go out so that we aren't wearing the same thing.

When it comes to clothes, I don't have a particular style. I honestly just wear whatever I like. I do not dress for other people. I dress for myself, only.

I have noticed lately however, that when I am shopping if I pick up something I like and the person I'm with says they don't like it, I am very likely to put it back. I mean, who wants to buy something and wear it when they know that the people they are around think what you're wearing is horrible?
No one.

I need to stop doing this. I need to stop picking up clothes and saying 'What do you think?' to my shopping buddies.
I have decided that I need to go shopping by myself so that when I see something I like, I don't feel the need to ask for reassurance. I need to go shopping by myself so that I buy things I really like, so that I don't feel tempted to put things back because others don't like it. If I like it, that should be all that natters, yes?
I personally think I dress nicely and have a pretty good fashion sense, so I need to trust my own instincts and stop looking for others approval. This has always been something that has bothered me, the looking for approval thing. I'm not an attention seeker by any means, I guess I just like to please people.

I made myself a promise at the beginning of this season.
'I will be more experimental with my clothes. I will buy things that I like and that may not necessarily be 'cool' or 'in fashion'. As long as I like it, I will wear it.'
Well I haven't done very well with this.
I have bought very few things that I thought were nice, and wouldn't normally wear but of course they are hanging in my closet, tags still attatched, never worn.

On Thursday, my experiment begins. My boyfriend will be playing soccer in the town over, and he is going to drop me off to shop alone and pick me up when he is done.
I am going to get dolled up to my own satisfaction and not ask my boyfriend if I look okay(I ask him frequently) And I am going to do this on my own.
I'm actually a bit excited!

Anyway, I think I have rambled enough for one day.

Have a great week, dolls!

nails

I have booked in to get acrylics done on Wednesday. I really hope I don't regret it. Every time I get them I say "I'm never getting them again" because they make my nails so weak.
But at the moment, they are still weak and I haven't had acrylics in over 6 months.
I've tried practically every nail hardener and nail growth promoter, yet once my nails get to a certain length they just snap off.
Ugh, I can't win.
I think I'm just going to get plain french acrylics, squared and not too long.
Then I am free to paint them however I like, which is my main issue at the moment.
All I want is to be able to paint them but nail polish looks terrible on my super short nails.
I will update with pictures when I get them done

dresses

I went a little dress crazy at Valleygirl yesterday. So many sales! Here's what I bought...

This last one is a black maxi dress. I love the detail on the back of it.
All these dresses(and the one black w/pink lace top) were only $9.95.

I'm now on a complete shopping ban until further notice.
I'm waiting to find out how much it's going to cost to fix the car and must do all my christmas shopping, then I will allow myself to shop again.

i'm going crazy!

My house is in shambles! There are boxes everywhere and the house just looks so bare. I've packed away all dvds, games, game systems, controllers, candles, photographs & decorative things. We took apart our bed yesterday just so we could use the floorspace for packing and sorting through things. Basically, all that is left in the house is the furniture, tv and the xbox(a necessity according to my boyfriend). I still have to tackle the kitchen, my closet, and the bathroom.

I cannot stand living like this. It's impossible to move without walking in to something and there is shit EVERYWHERE because there's just no one where to put things that aren't ready to be put in a box yet.

Today Louise is coming over for coffee and we are going to pack away the majority of my closet. I'm going to clean it out while I'm there. Must.Be.Ruthless. Louise will come in handy when clearing out my closet because if I hold something up and say "Keep?" she will more than likely say "Nope. It's fucking ugly. Why did you buy that?" hahaha. She is very honest with me, which is one of the many things I love about her.

So the aim for today is to pack away clothes, shoes, scarves, hats, belts, jewellery. And then we are doing possibly the stupidest thing ever. We are going shopping. So I will probably end up having to re-clean out my closet haha.

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately but I have been incredibly busy packing. Everything will go back to normal when I'm in my new house.

foundation

I have been using Revlon Photoready foundation in 'Sand' for the last few months and have been loving everything about it except the shine issue. Recently my foundation bottle has gotten a strange orangey line towards the bottom of the bottle. I'm pretty sure I'm running out but I can't get the damn lid off to check. I've also noticed that it seems to give my face an orangey tinge a few minutes after I apply it, but that seems to disappear within a few hours.

I'm wanting to try a new foundation but I really don't know which brand to go for so if anyone has any reccommendations please let me know. I want full coverage, no greasey feeling, must stay put for at least 5 hours, for normal skin. Price really isn't an issue. I don't have a problem with spending a lot of money on my foundation as long as it's good.

Can you offer me any advice?

Update

So I have been doing terribly with my project bikini body as I was recently put on medication for this strange lump on my leg and I had an allergic reaction and have basically been resting for a week. How boring. I plan on going back to the gym starting Tuesday. I hate having breaks because then when I start back again, I have to ease in to it and I get really sore.

I was thinking about documenting my project in pictures but I'm not sure I'm confident enough to post photos of my body the way it is at the moment. When/if I get more toned I will post before and after pictures.

My dream; Katy Perry. She is perfection in every way to me. I would kill to have her body(her face too actually).

I am going to start packing some stuff away tomorrow for my upcoming move. I have only ever moved house with my family and I was quite young so I don't really remember it and when I moved in with my boyfriend he was already living here so I just gradually bought my stuff over.

I am not entirely sure about where to start with moving and what should be packed first, what should be packed last & things like that.

If you have any tips, please let me know.

I have been trying to avoid shopping lately as all my bills all seemed to arrive at once; Car registration, car insurance, contents insurance, gas, water, phone, internet, mobile, credit card. All due within a week of each other. Yuck. I'm also trying to avoid shopping so there is less to pack when we move. I'm sure it won't last, though I have been very good lately.

This weekend was pretty relaxed which is what I needed.
Next weekend I have a 21st with a Disney theme. I was originally intending on going as Belle from Beauty & The Beast in the full yellow gown but I could not find one anywhere and it would have been very expensive to make.

I really didn't want to go as 'slutty' anything but I wasn't left with much of an option with the party being so close and me being so clueless about what to go as.

So I am going as slutty Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Thank god the back of the dress has a floor length cape so there is no chance of my ass making an appearance.

I bought my outfit off eBay for $50 and it arrived the other day. Terrible quality and a very, very small sized medium. I'll post photos of it next weekend.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

beautiful

I was having a bad day from the second I got out of bed today.
Then, this morning while my boyfriend was out helping his mother move house I decided to jump in the shower and when I came out of the shower there was a single, perfect, red rose in a vase on the bench for me.
It is things like that that make me fall in love with him all over again.
He is so sweet & thoughtful.

help!

Tony Bianco have decided to re-make and re-release these babies.

They are available for pre-order now and I must, repeat MUST own these. But for the life of me I cannot decide which pair to get. The pair on the left are nude and the pair on the right are champage.
Please, please, please help me decide!
Which do you prefer?

random

It's finally starting to feel like spring. Yesterday the sun was shining almost all day and at one point I changed from pants to shorts(that may have been because I was cleaning and working up a sweat though lol). When the weather gets a little bit warmer there just seems to be something in the air. I can almost smell christmas. Can you believe it's only 101 days away? I need to get my ass in to gear and do some shopping as I am notorious for doing all my shopping in one day, usually on abotu the 22nd of December. This year I'm going to go to Melbourne and do all my christmas in one day with a couple of girlfriends.

Usually by this time, I have a christmas list constructed in my mind. Almost always consisiting of a new bikini, make-up, clothes, something electriconic(camera, phone etc) but this year all I really want is to deck my house out. I have officially become domesticated. How sad. But to be honest, I enjoy it.

A few friends of friends have moved out of home recently and after visiting their houses I'm gobsmacked. So many people treat their homes like crap.

I take a lot of pride in my appearance, I always have, so it was only natural that when I moved in to my own house that I would take a lot of pride in the appearance of my home too. I'm just suprised that I seem to be one of few. I try so hard to keep my house immaculate and I hoenstly don't mind cleaning it because it makes me feel proud of where I live when it's so spotless.

I'm not lucky enough to have a whole heap of spare money at my disposal to go out and buy couchs that cost in the thousands or to buy an 800 dollar entertainment unit, but I do the best with what I have and I upgrade as I can afford it. If I had a lot more money you can bet my home would look completely different but it's not necessarily the furnishings in a house that make it nice. I keep it fresh and bright with flowers and photos and as little clutter as possible in a small unit.

It would appear I'm rambling and I'm sorry. I will do a post with some pretty pictures later

opinion?

Last week I bought this bra from Bras N Things

[Clearly this is not me. Photo taken from brasnthings.com]

Anyway, so I bought this bra sometime last week. You can't see by ths photo but the back of the bra is lace, not the meshy type stuff that a lot of bras are. It's also able to be a strapless bra.

I tried it on and loved it, so I took it home and washed it and I wore it yesterday and it has been giving me hell. I have imprints of the lace on my sides, just my sides, not my back, and the wire on the sides is digging into me every now and then. You are probably thinking that I bought an ill-fitting bra but I didn't. It fits perfectly, it just digs in when I lay down etc. It's making me feel like I have a rash(because the lace rubs on my skin) and it's really not comfortable but it's such a gorgeous bra.

I was wearing it when I caught up with my best friend and I showed her the damage and she seems to think it's not an 'everyday bra' and that it's supposed to be for sexy occassions or whatever. My boyfriend and my mother agree with her.

So, what I want to know is, what do you think?

I personally don't own any plain bras except for my sports bras. All of mine are 'sexy' I suppose you would say? I figure if I have to spend a lot of money to get a decent bra that fits and supports I might aswell get a gorgeous one.

And furthermore, I don't know that I even have 'sexy occasions'. Does sexy occassion mean trying to wow your boyfriend? Because I don't walk around in my bra and hope he jumps my bones.

I just believe that a bra can/should not only be supportive but really pretty aswell.
I'm in a bit of a pickle because I love this bra, it's a perfect fit (minus the lace rubbing on my skin).

Obviously I cannot return it as I have washed and worn it. I just don't see myself wearing it beause it's agony which means I have just thrown away $64.99.

Has this ever happened to you? Any advice or opinions on anything I've talked about?
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
