cheap tuesday

I'm going to split this post in to two parts.

The first is just an outfit of the day and a summary of what I got up to and the second one will be some of the bargains I have bought recently.

Today I am wearing a very inexpensive outfit.
dress; Valleygirl - $10.75(I love 30% off storewide!)
bracelets; Diva - $5
ring; Diva - $5
The other ring I am wearing was certainly not cheap but I wear it every day as it's my favourite piece of jewellery and a gift from my lovely boyfriend.

Today I went for coffee with two friends from high school which was really nice.
It feels so weird to catch up with people I haven't seen in awhile.
My friends from high school have all gone off in different directions and I don't really talk to any of them anymore, which is okay.
I'm trying to start my life as an adult and I feel that a lot of my old high school friends haven't really grown up yet. Not that I have anything against people having fun and going out and getting drunk, I just feel like a lot of them are still in the 'I'm 16' mindframe whereas I'm in the 'holycrap I'm almost 21' mind frame.
I am trying to make a life for myself and it's just so strange to hear and see so many people that are still in the exact same place(if not backwards) as graduation.
I don't really know where I'm going with this, just putting my thoughts out there.

Are you guys still close with your high school friends or do you have a new circle?

xx

  1. Ooh I love your dress! That's such a bargain too :) Very pretty outfit <3

I just finished high school last year so I hope I still keep in touch with those friends. I do however want to have a new circle of friends when I start uni this year

  2. i love your *inexpensive* outfit ;) seriously how good are the bargains at valleygirl. i got the most gorgeous white lace dress from there yesterday for $9.95!!

on the friends thing - i dont keep in touch with my high school friends...i mean i have them as friends on facebook but i never see them. i had a close knit group of 5 of us in year 11&12 and i only regularly keep in touch with 2 of them. one of the girls is getting married next week actually, i cant believe it. im still in the "i dont wanna grow up" phase :P but then again i dont have my own place like you and your bf... im just trying to start my career.. hopefully my masters of teaching at uni will be the last stop on the road to my career. ive changed courses that many times. haha.
omg im rambling so much!! thats it from me!!

  3. i used to have a HUGE group of friends in high school and i literally keep in contact with none of them. it's kind of sad but i think i'm ready to move on with life and start new.

i've been living with my boyfriend for 2 years this year and we've been together for 5 years this year but i'm still not ready for the whole 'ring, wedding, baby' thing. i'm happy cruising along, getting my life sorted out before i jump in to something like that. living together is as serious as i'm for at the moment.

i can't decide where i am in life, half the time i don't wanna grow up and the other half i feel like i have to.

i think early 20's are a difficult age because you're at a bit of a crossroads and people 'grow up' at very different times

    :)

    valleygirl sales are amazing!!

  4. honestly, i dont even bother with girls from my highschool anymore. i dont really bother with anyone i knew at highschool in general.

i grew up a lot faster than them even back then.

while i was 16 dating a 22 year old for two years and they were 16 dating 15 year olds for three weeks.

while i was ordering a caramel latte they were ordering a mr nippys iced coffee.

while i was going to 21sts and engagement parties, they were getting drunk at the park up the road from someones house.

i knew we wouldnt be life long friends. which sucks but i believe that you have to be an adult meeting other adults to really form a life long bond. noone ever stays the same person that they are when they are a teenager and if they do.. its sad.
